Think and Grow Rich is the first self-help book I read when I was around fourteen years old and I still use its information today.
The book is famous for the timeless lessons inside which has helped it sell over 15 MILLION copies. Here are some of my personal favourite quotes from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill:
"The starting point of all achievement is DESIRE. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small fire makes a small amount of heat."
"When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal."
"The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge."
"Happiness is found in doing, not merely possessing."
"Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will except them. If you are influenced by “opinions” when you reach DECISIONS, you will not succeed in any undertaking."
"There is no substitute for persistence. Failure cannot cope with persistence."
"The time will never be “just right.” Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along."
"One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat."
"Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application towards some worthy end."
"Education consists not so much of knowledge, but of knowledge effectively and persistently applied. People are paid not merely for they know, but more particularly for what they do with what they know."
"If you are influenced by the opinions of others, you will have no desire of your own."
"The majority of people are ready to throw their aims and purposes overboard, and give up at the first sign of opposition or misfortune. A few carry on despite all opposition, until they attain their goal. These few are the Fords, Carnegies, Rockefellers, and Edisons."
"Tell the world what you intend to do but first show it."
"Anybody can wish for riches, and most people do, but only a few know that a definite plan, plus a burning desire for wealth, are the only dependable means of accumulating wealth."
"Both poverty and riches are the offspring of thought."
"If you do not see great riches in your imagination, you will never see them in your bank balance."
"The person who stops studying merely because he has finished school is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no matter what may be his calling. The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge."
"The safest plan is not to depend on luck."
"Men who succeed keep open minds and are afraid of nothing."
